When life stops making sense, it helps to talk to someone who understands.

You might be looking for a counsellor because something has become difficult, painful, or uncertain.

Many of the people I work with are used to being the person others rely on. They’re thoughtful, capable, and accustomed to finding solutions. It can come as a surprise when they reach a point where those strengths no longer seem enough.

They’ve often spent weeks, months, or even years trying to solve the problem themselves. Then they realise this isn’t something to think their way out of. They need another person alongside them.

This might sound familiar

  • You’ve always been the one who copes, but lately things feel harder than they should
  • The same problems keep circling in your mind without resolution
  • You’re carrying worries you can’t share with family, friends or colleagues
  • Something feels off, but you can’t name what
  • You’re functioning on the outside while everything inside feels uncertain

You don’t need all the answers before getting in touch. We’ll explore them together.

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from counselling.

Life can become too heavy to carry alone. You might be facing a difficult decision, feeling overwhelmed by responsibility, navigating loss or change, struggling in a relationship, questioning your confidence, or finding anxiety is shaping your days.

Whatever brings you here, I won’t tell you what to do. I’ll help you make sense of what’s happening, understand yourself more clearly, and find the way forward that feels right for you.

Thoughtful conversation that leads to real change

I offer focused counselling for people who value conversation over endless analysis.

Some people come once. Others return when life presents new challenges.

We’ll untangle what’s happening, notice patterns that keep you stuck, and find realistic ways forward that you can sustain.

Many people leave their first session feeling lighter and clearer. They’ve reconnected with their own ability to navigate what they’re facing.

Hello, I’m Alison

I’ve spent many years supporting people through challenging moments in their lives.

As an accredited psychotherapist, trainer and Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, I’ve worked across private practice, healthcare, education and organisations.

Experience has taught me that people rarely need fixing. They need the right space to think, feel, and make sense of what’s happening without judgement or pressure.

That’s the space I offer every person who contacts me.

Getting started is simple

You don’t need to complete a complicated form. Just get in touch.

Send me an email about what’s happening. I’ll reply personally, answer your questions, and we’ll decide if working together feels right.

If it does, we’ll arrange a time that suits us both.
